Inclusive Learning Conference

The NDCO Program, hosted by SkillsPlus and Brace has partnered with Monash University Education Faculty, SPELD, Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Learn Local Network, Frankston and Mornington Peninsula, Bayside Kingston Glen Eira and Southern Eastern Local Learning and Employment Networks to cover the entire Southern Metropolitan region. 


The Conference is an opportunity for educational professionals to understand how:

·      specific disorders impact on learning;

·      the process of recognition and diagnosis; and

·      how to support inclusive education for people 14 years and over.


The conference is aimed at professionals with experience and/or an interest in inclusive learning and educating people aged 14 years and over:

·      Secondary teachers / teacher aides / school leaders;

·      Education sectors - government / non-government;

·      Tertiary Educators (Universities and TAFE);

·      Researchers and Academics; Education Consultants;

·      Therapists / Counsellors; and

·      Students.

This stream will focus on understanding specific disorders that impact on learning, the process for assessment and modifications that support inclusive education for people aged 14 years and over.


Two breakout sessions are offered in this stream:

a)      Specific Learning Difficulty

b)      Autism spectrum Disorder


Teaching and Learning Practice

This stream will explore the practical application related to the education of students with learning barriers aged 14 years and over including assistive technology, alternative assessment examples and strategies to modify curriculum.
