Inclusive Learning Conference


The NDCO Program’s Inclusive Learning Conference will focus on understanding how specific disorders impact on learning and how to support inclusive education for people 14 years and over.



Keynote Speaker



Associate Professor Pamela Snow, Monash University
School of Psychology and Psychiatry & the School of Rural Health


Improving the chances of at-risk adolescents receiving the additional support they need to overcome early obstacles in their lives.




Conference Streams



Recognition, Diagnosis and Support
This stream will focus on understanding specific disorders that impact on learning, the process for assessment and modifications that support inclusive education for people aged 14 years and over.

Teaching and Learning Practice
This stream will explore the practical application related to the education of students with learning barriers aged 14 years and over including assistive technology, alternative assessment   examples and strategies to modify curriculum.



Target Audience



Suitable for professionals with experience and/or an interest in inclusive learning and educating people aged 14 years and over:

·         Secondary teachers / teacher Aides / school Leaders;

·         Education sectors - government / non government;

·         Tertiary Educators (Universities and TAFE);

·         Researchers and Academics;

·         Education Consultants;

·         Therapists / Counsellors; and

·         Students.

Call for Lightning Presenters



Do you have experience in inclusive learning and educating adolescents?


Professionals are invited to share inclusive learning practices that lead to positive outcomes for adolescents within the classroom.


Lightning Presentations will be a 10 minute stand up talk or demonstration on a specific targeted topic in the Teaching and Learning Stream of the conference such as:


·         Incorporating diversity within the classroom;

·         Modification of programs, course material, activities, assignments and exams;

·         Variety of teaching strategies, activities, and assignments;

·         Assistive technology within the classroom; and

·         Flexibility for students to demonstrate knowledge and how to assess student knowledge.
