Northern Youth Disability Strategy 2015 - 2020

- Monday, December 07, 2015

The NDCO for the Inner Northern Region of Melbourne has released the Northern Youth Disability Strategy (2015 - 2020).

The Strategy was developed following consultation across the northern region via an online survey and focus groups.  A Reference Group also provided feedback on the draft Strategy, which guided the completion of the final version.

The Strategy works towards increased stakeholder collaboration to strengthen education, training and employment pathways so that young people with disability (ages 15 – 25 years) are well equipped to enter supportive and sustainable employment.  Stakeholders include young people with disability, secondary schools, families, tertiary providers, community and disability support services, Government bodies and Employment Service providers.

The Strategy will guide the future work of the NDCO across the region.  It is also hoped that this document will influence stakeholder activity and practice across the region for young people with disability.

We appreciate all the generous and valuable contributions stakeholders made throughout the development of the Strategy.

To request a copy of the strategy please email Tania Perez at:  TPerez@IMVC.com.au.
