The following professional bodies hold either an annual or biannual conference, provide ongoing  professional development opportunities, manage list-servs as well as lobby on behalf of their representatives in the sector.

The Australian Centre for Career Education Trading as the Career Education Association of Victoria (CEAV) is  a not for profit association that has a purpose of the advancement of education for the public benefit, particularly in relation to career development. www.ceav.vic.edu.au

Australia and New Zealand Student Services Association (ANZSSA) is a professional association for people with an interest in the provision of support services to students in post-secondary education in Australia and New Zealand. It provides development opportunities and sector representation from professional staff working in the post secondary student engagement, student participation, student wellbeing and student development. The organisation also publishes the Journal of Australia and New Zealand student Services Association. The Australian Tertiary Education Network on Disability    is the peak professional body for Disability Practitioners in the Tertiary Education and Training sector. The ATEND National Committee is made up of a representative of the Training & University Sector within each state. ATEND organises the Pathways Conference that is held bi-annually. Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) is the National Peak Body for the Career Industry in Australia. Its establishment in 2000 was a world first and it continues to be a leader in the field. It is a focal point for government and other stakeholders concerned for and interested in promoting quality career development services in Australia. Disability Employment Australia is the peak body for Australia’s Disability Employment Services. We represent, support and resource our members to provide high quality, innovative and effective best practice services to assist people with disability into sustainable and enduring employment.

The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) is the national professional body responsible for collecting, managing, analysing and communicating research and statistics on the Australian vocational education and training (VET) sector.
