Time: 10 am – 3 pm
Location: Cobblebank Stadium
All attendees must book at https://bit.ly/3KS0PGI
From the teams at the Exchange MatchWorks and Lendlease
Join The Exchange on the day to hear from industry professionals and experts, who will outline what kind of apprenticeships &traineeships are available, and what is expected in the workplace. You will have the opportunity to talk with businesses and recruiters on the day and gets some hands-on learning from some of the stallholders.
So come dressed to impress and bring copies of your resume and have a digital copy handy to be able to email employers directly on the day.
It is the first time employers and jobseekers have been able to get together in a face to face setting for some time, and I know all of the employers that will be there on the day are keen to get back to as normal as possible and actually meet candidates for roles.
They have a number of blue collar and white collar employers with current vacancies – in excess of 200 roles available on the day – so we encourage clients to turn up dressed appropriately to meet with employers, and have copies of their most up to date resumes handy, including a digital version to be able to email the employers on the day. Most of the roles available will fall within the western corridor, so this is a good opportunity for young people to access reasonably local employment opportunities. With this in mind, students/clients/residents from the Melton, Brimbank and Wyndham LGA’s are able to attend.
All people attending must register for an Eventbrite ticket. No ticket, no entry. We are also running the event under strict covid mandates, including the need to wear a mask and be a minimum of double vaccinated. We will have people on the door checking tickets and vaccination certificates to ensure we are doing everything to keep each other safe. Public transport is available as the stadium is located a short walk from the Cobblebank Train station, and ample parking is available at the stadium on the day. Parents and support people are welcome to attend, but must register for a ticket as well.
On the day, we will have a series of individual presentations from industry employers, including what it is like to work in that industry, skills and experiences employers look for, and career pathways available once they complete the apprenticeship or traineeship. (Schedule will be released to all registered clients through Eventbrite by end of this week) Whilst most roles are traditionally targeting the younger demographic, many employers are now offering opportunities to hire mature aged apprentices and trainees, or out of trade apprentices, so anyone of any age is welcome.
