Employment Support Coordination – Professional Development
The NDIA aims to have 30 per cent of participants of a working age in meaningful employment by 30 June 2023 and it is busy making changes to the NDIS funding for employment. But low expectations, ongoing and systemic discrimination and complex employment support systems persist as barriers to reaching this goal.
Support Coordinators play a key role by helping people to address employment barriers, navigate complex employment supports across NDIS and mainstream government and, identify and design options to exercise choice and control for meaningful employment.
This full day workshop will give Support Coordinators the information, knowledge and inspiration they need to guide a person through an exploration of their employment options from identifying what’s possible to understanding how it can be funded. We will cover:
– Who’s who in the disability employment landscape
– Employment options for people with disability
– Funding for employment (NDIS and beyond)
– Innovative case studies
– The role of the Support Coordinator

Support Coordinators with an intermediate to senior level of experience who are looking to extend their beginner-level knowledge of employment options for NDIS participants.
