Host NDIS info sessions and workshops
Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO) has funding to host 47 information sessions all over Australia and online between May and December this year.
The workshop information and booklets are all ready to go – but we need a few more people with disability from different parts of the country to facilitate the workshops.
The workshops are designed to help people with disability and families get the most out of their NDIS plans, and have a good understanding of how everything works.
What kind of people is AFDO looking for?
AFDO wants all of the facilitators (hosts) to be people with disability.
You should have a really good understanding of the NDIS. People at the workshops will ask you a lot of questions about how things work.
It would be great if you had experience in things like public speaking and hosting workshops and information sessions.
You will need to have (or set up) an ABN to get paid.
How will the workshops be delivered?
It will depend on how things are going with COVID. We want everyone to be as safe as possible. We will do face to face sessions when and where it is safe, but we will also host online forums (like Zoom) and share pre-recorded videos.
Accessibility
We are really serious about accessibility. We will work with you to make sure you have what you need so that your workplace is accessible, for both you and the people attending. This means if you need things like captioning, Auslan, alternative format documents, wheelchair accessible venues, and more – AFDO will provide them.
Feel free to ask us for more information.
When is the deadline?
Applications close at 5pm on Friday February 26.
